Year 10s plan for the future

Over the last week, students in Year 11 have had an excellent opportunity to think about where their studies in Year 11 may take them.

A series of careers events gave all students the opportunity to tae part in at least one activity. These included a visit to the University of Birmingham, where students went on a tour of the campus and saw graduation taking place for some of the 30,000 undergraduates.

Other activities included apprenticeship workshops provided by Amazing Apprenticeships and an employability skills session by De Montfort University.

On the last day, MTC and the Smallpeice Trust gave students the chance to act as entrepreneurs – designing and marketing speakers for mobile devices.

All of these opportunities gave students a real insight into the world of work and we thank all of the organisations involved for giving up their time to make this event happen.
