At Nicholas Chamberlaine we respect the sacrifices our Armed Services have made for us in the past and continue to make on our behalf. We recognise our debt to them for our safety, welfare and liberty. To honour them, and in particular to show our respect for the 100 Year anniversary of Armistice Day we will be holding our own Remembrance event on Monday 12 November and would like you to join us.
We will deliver readings by the Head Boy and Girl, the Last Post, laying of a wreath and a minute silence.
If you would like to join us please come to the school entrance ready for 10.45am on Monday 12th November. The event will be concluded by 11.15am. This will be a whole school outdoor event on the field.
In preparation for the event we have been coordinating a large scale collaborative art project involving over 400 students. A superb team effort and spirit from the staff and students has enabled us to produce some outstanding clay poppies.
If you would like to purchase a handmade Poppy from us on the day please bring a £5 donation which will be given to the national Poppy Association. You will be able to select one from the display.
We look forward to seeing you then.
