Students at Nicholas Chamberlaine have been celebrating great successes in their GCSE studies. For the third year in a row, the pass rate across the range of subjects has climbed significantly: now reaching their best level in recent memory.
The number of students with 5 standard passes (including English and Maths) has risen an impressive 10% in two years – reflecting a climb in students’ achievement in English (61% at Level 4 in 2019 up from 53% in 2017) and Maths (66% at Level 4 in 2019 from 59% in 2017).
Likewise, the school saw particular successes this year in Art (95% 9-4), Business (72% 9-4), French (80% 9-4) and Computer Science (74% 9-4). In the vocational subjects, key highlights were the significant pass rate in PE (94%) and Health & Social Care (83%) and the 77% Distinction to Merit rate in Catering.
These strong results now free students to pursue their education into the Sixth Form and beyond.
